Global PC shipments increased in the third quarter of this year, and the United States even gave the best "score" in the past 10 years. Why is this happening? Mainly because many people work remotely and learn remotely. They buy new PCs, which boosted sales.

　　 According to the latest report released by Gartner, global PC sales in the third quarter of this year were approximately 71.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. Chromebooks sales are even more amazing, with a year-on-year increase of 90%. However, Gartner will exclude Chromebooks in statistics. If Chromebooks are added, the entire market will grow by 9%.

　　 PC sales in the US in the third quarter increased by 11% year-on-year, with shipments of 16.5 million units. This was the first double-digit growth in the past 10 years.

　　 Gartner analyst Mikako Kitagawa pointed out: "The market is changing. It is no longer measured by the number of PCs owned by each family, but by the number of PCs owned by each person."

　　Lenovo is still the number one PC manufacturer, accounting for 26% of total shipments, followed by HP and Dell with 22% and 15% respectively. Apple’s shipments accounted for 8% of the entire market, with a share of approximately 6% in the same period last year. Again, Gartner's statistics do not include Chromebooks and iPads. Compared with last year, this year Lenovo’s Apple’s share increased while HP’s Dell’s share decreased.
